Protective Security Coordination Centre

The Protective Security Coordination Centre (PSCC) is a division of the Australian Government Attorney-General's Department. It supports the Attorney-General by providing policy advice on protective security and delivering the various programs for which it is responsible.

Since its inception in 1976, the role of the PSCC has evolved from coordinating dignitary protection to also encompass managing the national counter-terrorism arrangements, managing aspects of the national security capability, coordinating the collection and dissemination of information regarding national security, developing and implementing the Australian Government's protective security policy, protective security training, and personnel security vetting.

PSCC manages the Australian Government's protective security responsibilities and performs a coordination role in marshalling resources in preventing, or responding to, threats to our national security.  It maintains close working relationships with all Australian Government departments and agencies, Federal, State and Territory police services, Premiers' and Chief Ministers' Departments and security agencies to accomplish these functions.
